What is kosher food?

Kosher food consists of a set of Jewish dietary laws that dictate which foods are suitable for consumption according to Jewish religious law. The importance of kosher food lies in its spiritual significance, role in preserving cultural identity, and emphasis on purity and ethical eating.

This dietary system is based on a detailed set of rules regarding food preparation, sacrifice, and consumption, which aim to promote health, ethics, and a spiritual connection to what is consumed.

Customized Kosher Experience

Do you want to enjoy an authentic kosher meal during your stay? You can request meat prepared under these practices up to seven days before your arrival. The resort’s culinary team will cook exquisite dishes in its eight restaurants, strictly following kosher rules. With various cuts of beef, lamb, veal, and chicken, the chefs tailor the menu to your preferences and with prices that adjust to the quantity you need.

If you prefer to avoid meat altogether, there will be other options. The resort also offers a pescetarian plan that allows you to enjoy a delicious menu of regional seafood. Your Personal Concierge will provide you with the daily menu options and make the necessary adjustments for you to fully enjoy your culinary experience.

Highest Quality Kosher Meat

And for our guests who follow the Orthodox diet, the resort is partnered with the Chabad Jewish Center of Playa del Carmen. You can place kosher food orders directly with them, and each dish will be prepared, supervised, and approved by Rabbi Mendel Goldberg. This meat is of the highest quality, Glatt CHALAK Bet Yosef, from “The Kehila אא” Shejitá and from the main suppliers in Mexico City.

How about Celebrating Passover in the Mexican Caribbean?

From April 22nd to 30th, enjoy a Seder dinner at the Azul restaurant, overlooking the turquoise sea. The menu will include a delicious green salad with arugula, baby spinach, radishes, endives, onions, cooked peppers, avocado, cucumbers, and cherry tomatoes; matzah ball soup; and stewed fish with asparagus risotto and edamame puree. And to accompany these exquisite dishes, you will enjoy kosher wine throughout the week.

Should you prefer to visit Playa del Carmen at a different time of year, the resort organizes themed activities for various Jewish holidays, including Rosh Hashanah and Hanukkah. During these celebrations, you can savor traditional dishes, participate in evening candle-lighting ceremonies, and even find wrapped toys available for gift-giving online, among other memorable experiences.
