This innovative experience includes a pre-planned ceremony, professional photographer and videographer, social media concierge, surprise ceremony reveal, and a reception presented as a welcome dinner, culminating in a three-night honeymoon at one of our prestigious Velas Resorts properties.
A Secret and Exciting Beginning
Disguised as a family and friends vacation or a destination engagement party, this secret wedding experience starts with a private ceremony for the couple in one of the hotel’s beautiful spots. Options include the oceanfront Táu Beach Club, the lush pool terrace, the botanical garden, and the golf course garden. These locations have been selected for their picturesque features, which are perfect for creating unforgettable memories. The couple’s special moment will be captured by a professional photographer and videographer, along with our social media concierge, who will document the ceremony and edit and prepare the memories for the big reveal.
The Surprise Reveal
After family and friends arrive at the venue, the surprise celebration begins with what guests believe is a welcome party, unaware that the couple is already married. During dinner, while friends and family catch up, our social media concierge will start posting photos and videos of the secret elopement, tagging the guests one by one. The excitement and group awareness grow as guests discover the secret wedding. The welcome dinner culminates with the wedding video projection on an outdoor screen, allowing our closest loved ones to share the joyful moment.
An Unforgettable Celebration
Once the big surprise is revealed, the celebration continues with “La Hora Loca.” The entire party will be taken to Táu Beach Club with a dancing parade featuring mojigangas, large Mexican puppets modeled after the newlyweds. Guests will enjoy a night of entertainment, including mariachi performances, DJs, a magician, fireworks, and a wedding cake. Every detail of the day will be expertly handled!
A Surprising Finale
The reception will end with the reveal of the couple’s secret honeymoon destination. We will provide a deck of mixed cards, each with the name of one of the Velas Resorts properties. The couple will select a card, face down, to reveal their honeymoon stay. After the weekend with friends and family, the newlyweds will be taken to the chosen resort to enjoy a romantic honeymoon to start their “happily ever after.”
