To elevate its dynamic offerings and meet high demand during the year’s most sought-after times, the resort completed a series of key infrastructure enhancements.
Lobby enhancements
Arriving at a resort like Grand Velas Los Cabos sets the tone for your entire stay. With that in mind, we completely refreshed the main lobby, replacing all flooring with neutral-toned, finely finished materials that enhance natural light and highlight the grand central architecture.
Alongside this primary update, we completed aesthetic maintenance throughout high-traffic corridors. Hallways on floors five and ten received detailed floor retouching, restoring a clean, fresh look to the areas connecting the suites without disturbing the tranquil atmosphere for guests.
The transformation of Terraza del Mar
The most ambitious change on the property focused on Terraza del Mar, an open-air venue framing sweeping ocean views. This space underwent a significant structural expansion, increasing capacity from 500 to 800 guests per event.
This expansion optimized the terrace’s visual scale and widened circulation areas while addressing high demand on peak dates like Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve. Now, the fluid design lets you host large gatherings while preserving an atmosphere of exclusivity, comfort, and coastal elegance, with striking ocean views.
Culinary updates in fine dining
Culinary excellence remains a cornerstone of the brand. At Cocina de Autor, the flagship Michelin-starred restaurant celebrating avant-garde gastronomy, we completed an extensive preventive and corrective maintenance project on the ceiling structure. These technical updates ensure that the dining room maintains the acoustic, climate, and design standards required for an internationally acclaimed dining experience.
Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit and the sophistication of contemporary design
On the Pacific coast, Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit completed a meticulous 12-month renovation that transformed its suites. The architectural project prioritized creating a private sanctuary of over 970 sq. ft. per suite, with interior design paying homage to the lush tropical surroundings.
An organic color palette and locally sourced materials
The aesthetic moves away from fleeting trends and embraces a color palette inspired by the coastal landscape. Sand, beige, and cream tones dominate the palette, accented by warm woods and subtle green touches that evoke the Pacific jungle foliage.
The furnishings and finishes feature polished stone, organic-fiber upholstery, and custom handcrafted woodwork and textiles made by regional artisans. This integration of local craftsmanship brings an authentic sense of place to every suite, balancing architectural precision with a welcoming residential feel.

The suite renovations integrated a strong commitment to environmental sustainability. The renovations incorporated low-energy lighting systems, eco-friendly low-emission finishes, and high-durability materials throughout to reduce the property’s carbon footprint.

Kids’ Clubs and spaces designed for imagination
Younger family members discover a genuine sanctuary for creativity at the Kids’ Clubs. These environments honor Caribbean nature and offer an educational, active approach to play that prioritizes hands-on interaction.
Inside, children can enjoy a screen-free space that encourages arts and crafts, with a playhouse and dance floor where they can let their imaginations run free. The experience includes a dedicated snack station stocked with fresh fruit, natural juices, mini cupcakes, and healthy treats.
Outdoor activities take center stage in this renewed concept. T-shirt painting sessions and creative workshops take place in the Zen Grand gardens, while a private terrace in the Ambassador ambiance hosts picnics, mini shows, and art sessions. Children can also join energetic group activities like the Pancho Rally, themed trivia, and beach volleyball games.
Jungle Kids’ Spa and early wellness
As an extension of the award-winning SE Spa, the resort unveiled the Jungle Kids’ Spa, a sanctuary designed for children aged 5 to 12 within the Zen Grand ambiance. This space utilizes interactive murals and natural soundscapes to introduce young guests to personal care.
The facilities offer tailored relaxation treatments, including Shiatsu massage chairs, facial areas, manicure and pedicure services, and a hair styling station. During their session, children enjoy gentle, natural products and gift kits to continue their self-care routines at home.
The Teens’ Club and interactive cultural immersion
For guests aged 13 and older, the property transformed the traditional game room into a sophisticated two-story Teens’ Club combining cutting-edge technology with Mexican cultural workshops.
The main level features a social lounge equipped with high-speed gaming stations, a dance area, and a Social Media Studio with professional lighting designed for content creation. The upper level features a professional-grade golf simulator, basketball hoops, an arcade with classic and modern titles, and a 22-seat VIP cinema for daily screenings.
The clubs’ daily programming includes the Mocktail Lab, a non-alcoholic mixology workshop where teens can step behind the bar to experiment with botanicals, vibrant colors, and modern presentations. The space also offers Huichol bead art workshops, traditional cooking classes, accessory weaving, and skincare rituals designed specifically for young skin.
